The name Corduroy is from the French "Cord Du Roi" meaning cord of the king.
 
This is a medium weight black needle cord with a slight stretch across the weave.
 
We have sold it for morris dancing waistcoats for many years and it is also suitable for clothing and light upholstery such as cushion covers. A customer has used it to make Christmas stockings.
